Stan Trekell Lawrence, KS 06/26/2010 | First Annual Century Tour of Colorado, August 7-14, 2010 sponsored by the Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club. Our club anticipates that this tour will become an annual event for ALL motorcyclists from across the Midwest, just as it was 100 years ago.
From a historical perspective, this tour will be of particular interest to all riders who calls Kansas home. Excitement for this tour is beginning to build and great plans are underway. We will be retracing the same route itinerary taken by the KSGMC back in 1910. If you would like to be a part of this historic tour, make plans now to attend. This is one Kansas motorcycle event that you will not want to miss!
The deadline for reservations is July 31, 2010. The cost is $100 per person to participate on this tour. You must also be a member in good standing with the Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club. We will be glad to forward you a club application via email. In order to participate on this tour, solo riders must be over the age of 18. Children are welcome to ride along as a passenger when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Anyone not owning a motorcycle is also invited to join up with our tour and to follow us to Colorado by car or truck. The fees and membership requirements to participate as a motorist are the same as they are for all motorcycle riders. Good kids under the age of 18 are FREE!
We will have a road support vehicle following the tour provided we have enough participants to help off-set the expense. Our truck has a 14-foot box with a rear Tommy Lift for emergency roadside pickup. Be sure to tell your friends that after 100 years, the Kansas Short Grass Motorcycle Club is still...

Debbie Pinkley Des Moines, Ia 03/14/2010 | My husband and I are possibly going to be moving to Wichita in the next few weeks and I checked out your website because I am interested in finding some lady riders to ride with if we choose Wichita as our home. My husband does not ride so it gets very old riding alone. It looks like you ladies are fun, respectful of the road and each other and friendly. I definitely will be contacting you if Wichita becomes our destination if you could use another rider.
Ride safe and have fun!

Valarie Smith WIchita, KS 03/04/2010 | I enjoyed meeting you last nigth March 3 at the Garage Party at Alefs Harley Davidson. I will be taking the riders class in April and hope to become a memeber of the KKMC then.

Carla Walker Wichita, KS 03/04/2010 | I would just like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed meeting members of the KKMC at Alef's HD's Women's Garage Party on March 3. I found their information very enlightening, (particulary the discussion about buying a lighter bike versus a heavier, more road-worthy one), I hadn't thought at all about the road-draft from a passing semi before that. I also think they have a kickass club concept, and a very cool club logo. I'm doing Rider's Edge classes at Alef's sometime in the near future (probably May timeframe). Once I get my license I'll be looking into buying my first ride (probably from Alef's) and maybe seeing if the KKMC might want one more kitty once I have my ride. Just a few more months to go. :)
Best Regards,
Carla (CJ) Walker

Jeannette Hartman Minot, ND 02/15/2010 | I need to clarify that Mark Lucas lived and rode in Wichita, KS. I moved to ND about a year ago from Wichita. I came back for the funeral.
|
Jeannette Hartman Minot, ND 02/15/2010 | I want to let you all know that our friend, Mark Lucas, passed away Feb 9, 2010. He had ridden with the Krome Kitties from time to time in the last year.
Mark was the one who taught me how to ride and we became great riding partners. As he said, we rode together better than anyone who has ridden with him before. It has been a sad thing for us to lose him and he will be greatly missed.
The visitation and viewing is at the Broadway Mortuary tomorrow night, Feb 16, 2010, from 5-7 pm, however, people can go during the day if they want some private time with him. The funeral is going to be held at the same place on Wed, Feb 17, 2010 at 10 am.
Please come to either, or both, events if you desire to have closure in the manner. I know he enjoyed riding with all of you!
Jeannette
